Free
Best Free Wine Tasting - Asheville, North Carolina

It’s our last free wine tasting before Christmas, and it’s a good one! Stop by to sample 6 holiday classics for free.

Asheville’s Best Free Christmas Wine Tasting – Just stop by – we’ve got plenty of free parking!

We’re breaking out the good stuff for this one! You seriously don’t want to miss it, as we’re pouring 6 festive favorites. From whites perfect for the Feast of the Seven Fishes to reds that will pair perfectly with your holiday feasts, we’re pulling the corks on some super-classy and regal whites and reds. Stop by, taste, learn, and save big!

All the featured tasting wines are 20% off by the bottle on tasting day only.

1. 2016 Bodegas Frontonio Valdejalon Macabeo Microcosmico (Aragon, Spain) – Trust me on this one folks — this is one of the most compelling white wines I’ve tasted all year. Composed of Macabeo (aka Viura), this drinks like a top-flight White Rioja but sells for half the price. Fleshy, ripe, rich and fresh, it’s an ideal white to serve with seafood.

2. 2017 Argiolas Vermentino “Is Argiolas” (Sardinia, Italy): Argiolas is one of Sardinia oldest and most respected producers, and Vermentino reaches it’s qualitative pinnacle here. From the estate’s oldest vines, this one is fermented in stainless steel and is aged on the lees for several months. “This is a serious Vermentino that takes on the weight and intensity of a serious chardonnay with dried-apple and pineapple character.” – James Suckling – 94 points

3. 2017 Chateau Pegau Cotes du Rhone Blanc “Cuvee Lone” (Rhone Valley, France) – Pegau’s Cotes du Rhone Blanc easily trumps most White Chateauneuf du Pape Blancs, but it sells for a fraction of the price. Round, luscious, and highly aromatic, this one offers up lovely notes of ripe melon, grilled pear, lemon peel, and dried herbs.

4. 2017 Division Winemaking Company “Un” Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley, Oregon) – This will go down as my top Pinot Noir discovery of 2018. From a blend of vineyards scattered throughout the Willamette Valley, it’s wonderfully pure, silky, elegant and complex Oregon Pinot Noir. YUM!

5. 2015 Plantamura Primitivo Gioia del Colle “Black Label” (Puglia, Italy) – From one of the top estate’s in Southern Italy, this is nearly perfect Primitivo! Rich, lush, and bursting with ripe berry fruit and spice, this is way too easy to drink.

6. Surprise Wine – It’s a 96 pointer, we’re offering it up at the best price in the country, and it would be perfect if you’re serving beef or lamb for Christmas this year. This is epic stuff!
