January 6 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

best free wine tasting asheville, north carolina

Get 2018 off to a good start with a free wine tasting featuring a trio of 90+ point rated wines!  All you have to do is stop by — we’ve got plenty of free parking.

I’m seriously pumped about this lineup of 90+ pointers!  They’re all fantastic, and they’re all very reasonably priced.  Trust me, I don’t just rely on wine ratings — I taste the every wine that makes the cut at Table Wine.  We were working with all three of these long before the press came, and we invite you to stop by, taste them all, and save big.  It’s Asheville’s top free wine tasting, and you’re invited!  Just drop by any time between 2-5pm — plenty of free parking.

All of the featured tasting wines are being offered at 20% off by the bottle!  To take advantage of the savings, all sales must be tendered by the end of the tasting.

1. 2016 Ferraton Pere et Fils Cotes du Rhone Blanc “Samorens” (Rhone Valley, France) – Founded in 1946, this family-operated winery crafts some of the top values in France’s Rhone Valley.  Since 1998, the Ferraton’s have partnered with famed Chapoutier family, and the quality has skyrocketed.  “Made from equal parts Roussanne, Viognier and Clairette, the 2016 Côtes du Rhône Samorens is terrific white from a region that’s producing more and more high-quality whites. Citrus blossom, brioche, crushed rocks and a touch of white grapefruit fruit emerge from this clean, crisp white that’s going to age nicely for 3-4 years, if not longer.” – Jeb Dunnuck – 90 points
Special Tasting Price: $9.59/bottle

2. 2011 Carlos Serres Rioja Reserva (Rioja, Spain) – Established in 1896 by Frenchman Carlos Serres, the winery is one of the longest established houses inRioja and was key to the development and success of the region.  The estate’s 2011 Rioja Reserva is one of the top values in high-quality, traditional Rioja.  “A deep and enticing nose showing ripe strawberries and raspberries plus hints of eucalyptus. Full body, excellent balance and lovely freshness. High level of juicy tannins and a long, fresh and cedary aftertaste.” – James Suckling – 93 points
Special Tasting Price: $13.59/bottle
Wine of the Week Price: $12.99/bottle on your solid 6-pack

3. 2015 Pietralta Chianti (Tuscany, Italy) – Do not mistake this for a simple, pizza/pasta Chianti!  This is serious juice, and the wine tastes better than most Chianti Classicos, but costs a fraction of the price.  From certified organic vineyards planted back in 1968 (that’s old!), the wine is comprised of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Canaiolo and Colorino.  Just 5,000 BOTTLES are produced each year, and the 2015 is singing a beautiful song.  “Aromas of plum, dark cherry, spice, and complex earth notes lead into a zesty, bold palate of dark fruit and spice. Fine-grained tannins, classic acidity, terrific wine.” – Josh Spurling – 92 points
Special Tasting Price: $13.59/bottle
