Focus on Red Zinfandel

Try Three for Free Wine Tasting - Focus on Red Zinfandel

Try Three for Free Wine Tasting this Saturday, March 12th from 2:00 to 5:00 featuring a trio of rich and spicy Red Zinfandels from California and Southern Italy!!! Trust us, Zinfandel is used to make a lot more than the sweet pink stuff! It grows incredibly well in many of the warmer zones of California as well as in the hot and sunny vineyards of Southern Italy where it goes by the name Primitivo. Regardless, the style of wine it yields tends to be rich and full of brambly berry and spice flavors. Even better, with warmer weather just around the corner, Red Zinfandel is the perfect wine to serve with grilled fare. We invite you to join us as we pour and explore the different flavors and styles of Red Zinfandel this Saturday at Table Wine. Stop by, taste, learn, and save up to 20% off on all of the tasting wines.

All of the featured tasting wines are on sale the day of the tasting: take 10% off if you mix any 3, 15% off if you mix any 6, or 20% off if you mix any 12.

The Wines

1. 2013 Mannara Primitivo (Puglia, Italy) – Primitivo possesses exactly the same DNA as Zinfandel, and it’s one of the leading grape varieties of Southern Italy. This one is a great introduction to the Italian “treatment” of the grape — uncomplicated, juicy, supple, and super easy to drink, it makes a great house wine.

2. 2013 Foxglove Zinfandel (Paso Robles, California) – Jim and Bob Varner make some of California’s best values under their Foxglove label. Fermented entirely in stainless steel (which keeps the cost down), the resulting wine is medium bodied, pure, and loaded with classic Zinfandel character. Sweet red berries and spicy, peppery notes all come together in this soft, lush, and easy drinking red. 88 points Vinous Media and The Wine Advocate

3. 2013 Pedroncelli Zinfandel “Bushnell Vineyard” (Sonoma County, California) – This stuff is the bomb! From one of Sonoma’s oldest family owned and operated wineries and from an old vineyard in Sonoma’s Dry Creek Valley, this is our idea of what really good California Zinfandel should taste like. Rich, spicy, and packed with flavor, this full bodied red explodes out of the glass with bold notes of dark raspberry, blueberry, black cherry, vanilla, pepper and oh so much more. Trust us, words don’t do this wine justice. Stop by and taste it!
