Try 3 For Free Wine Tasting - Wines You're Going To Like

Saturday, June 10th from 2-5 pm – Join us Saturday for a free wine tasting featuring 3 wines that are guaranteed to please your palate! This is your chance to try the Pullus Halozan, our new Wine of the Week and one of the best summer whites I’ve ever tasted. Trust me, you are going to want to stock up on this one!

I easily taste over 1,000 wines every year. Many are horrible, many are great. I deem some as hard sells, but worth carrying and others as easy sells, but not necessarily to my liking. Occasionally, the stars align and I find wines that are both pleasing to my palate and easy to sell. That’s what this Saturday’s tasting is all about. Stop by to try a trio of wines you are going to like……..I guarantee it! Up first, it’s our new Wine of the Week, the 2016 Pullus Halozan. This liter bottled Slovenian white blend is destined to become the top selling white wine of the spring and summer. After that, it’s a fun and fizzy Pinot Noir rosé from a family-run, biodynamic farm in Austria. Dry, yet fruit filled and way too easy to drink, I love this one at the beach or by the pool. To finish, it’s a lovely, silky, value-priced Red Burgundy from the brilliant 2015 vintage. In case you didn’t hear, the vintage has been called “nearly perfect” by a number of top wine writers, and this wine showcases the quality of the vintage. Stop by, taste, learn, and save!

The Wines
All of the featured tasting wines are on sale the day of the tasting: take 10% off if you mix any 3, 15% off if you mix any 6, or 20% off if you mix any 12.

1. 2016 Pullus Halozan (Styria, Slovenia) – It’s our new Wine of the Week, it comes in a nifty liter bottle, and I’m calling it the most dangerous white wine in the world. Why? Because it’s too darned easy to drink! A blend of 8 different white grapes (Welschriesling, Furmint, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Yellow Muscat, Pinot Grigio if you must know), it is decidedly dry, fresh, aromatic and thirst-quenching.

2. 2015 Meinklang Pinot Noir Frizzante “Prosa” (Burgenland, Austria): From the small, biodynamic Michlits Family Estate, this is one of the funnest and easiest to drink wines in the store. It’s pink in color, it’s dry, and it’s got a little spritz to it. With aromas and flavors of fresh cherry, tart strawberry, and cranberry, this light and juicy rosé will convert the most suspicious pink wine pessimist over to our side.

3. 2015 Domaine du Prieure Bourgogne Rouge (Burgundy, France) – I had a bottle of this one this past Saturday night, and it blew me away! It’s incredibly hard to find good Red Burgundy for less than $20, but this one does it. Based in the village of Savigny-les-Beaune, this is 100% Pinot Noir from 40 year old vineyards. Hand harvested, fermented in stainless steel, and matured in French oak (just 10% new) for 10 months, this one offers up scents and flavors of red fruits, complex spice, and fine grained tannin.
