2017 Chateau de la Selve Muagelonne Rose

Our Top-Selling Dry Rose of the Year!

SOLD OUT

Let’s get right down to the details here. Benoit Chazallon runs this impeccable, biodynamic and organic estate with his wife Florence. Located in the Ardeche region, one of the lesser known parts of the Rhone Valley, Benoit and Florence craft pure, terroir-driven wines from their 40 hectares. The couple, along with a staff of 12 employees, do all of the work themselves. This is a prime example of the small growers/producers that Table Wine represents.

Their rose is a classic blend of 40% Cinsault, 40% Grenache, and 20% Syrah, and the name is inspired by his sister, Madeleine, when translated into the local language. It is produced using direct pressure, with Benoît adopting a Champagne-like triage during the pressing, taking only the first free-run juice. And it is this process that no doubt contributes to the pristine and natural aromas and flavors of this wine.

Offering up a delicate and highly aromatic bouquet of fresh strawberry, apple, peach, and white flowers, it is delightfully crisp and bright. And all of that lovely fruit is framed by perfectly integrated acidity and mineral. For fans of wines like Whispering Angel and Chateau Miraval, you’re going to love this one. And even better, this one costs half the price!
