There have been many ups along with some downs, but all in all, the experience has been a great one.  We owe a huge debt of gratitude to our many fans, friends, and customers and the best way we know how to say thanks is by having one of the biggest and best free wine tastings of the summer.  From good, honest “table wines” to more lavish, “special occasion” wines, we’ll have something for everyone.

Some of our favorite reps will be on hand to help us out, and you’re all invited to stop by, try a bunch of wines, and save up to 25% off on all of the tasting wines.  Many thanks and we can’t wait to see you!

1. NV Gruet Sparkling Brut (Truth or Consequences, New Mexico) – Any good celebration calls for some good bubbles, and for over 30 years the Gruet family have been crafting one of our country’s best sparkling wines. Dry, moderately rich, and possessing a very fine bead of bubbles, this is a great way to kick things off.

2. 2013 Chateau La Tour de Beraud Blanc (Costieres de Nimes, France) – Talk about a great summer white wine.  This exotically fruited blend of Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Vermentino, and Viognier is packed with ripe peach, tropical fruits, Provencal herbs and spices, and freshly cut flowers.  Yum!
Tasting Price: $15.29/bottle | $13.59 in mixed six packs | $12.74 in mixed cases

3. 2014 Les Vignerons du Mont Ventoux “Les Trois Messes Basses” Rose (Rhone Valley, France) – Summer is the perfect time for dry rose, and this is one of our best sellers!  Mainly Grenache, with little splashes of Syrah and Cinsault, it is light, dry, juicy and refreshing.
Tasting Price: $12.59/bottle | $11.19 in mixed six packs | $10.49 in mixed cases

4. 2012 Mount Eden Vineyards Chardonnay “Wolff Vineyards” (Edna Valley, California) – For fans of the richer, creamier, toastier style of California Chardonnay (a la Rombauer), you have to try this 93 point rated wine from one of the state’s most trusted Chardonnay producers.  Rich, creamy, and packed with buttered citrus and pear fruit along with notes of carmelized peach and creme brulee, it’s a steal at this price!  93 points Wine Enthusiast
Tasting Price: $22.49/bottle | $19.99 in mixed six packs | $18.74 in mixed cases

5. 2013 Brumont Merlot/Tannat (Southwestern France) – Alain Brumont is one of the top winemakers in Southwestern France, and his Madirans are the stuff of legends.  For this classic “table wine,” he blends the softer and juicier character of Merlot with the more rugged, structured style of the region’s native Tannat to create a perfect, middle-weight, easy drinking red.
Tasting Price: $13.49/bottle | $11.99 in mixed six packs | $11.24 in mixed cases

6. 2013 Zorzal Malbec “Terroir Unico” (Mendoza, Argentina) – The Michelini brothers march to the beat of their own drum!  Their Malbec is unlike any other we’ve ever tasted from Argentina, and part of that is due to the fact that they farm their vineyards according to the principles of biodynamics and they don’t use any oak barrels in their production.  The resulting wine is pure, savory, and very French in style.  92 points The Wine Advocate

7. 2012 Chateau La Tour de Beraud Rouge (Costieres de Nimes, France) – The red from this estate is drinking beautifully right now, even better than it was a month ago when it was our Wine of the Week.  A blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, and Marselan, it’s a classic rendition of Southern French red wine.  Rustic, spicy, earthy, funky, delicious!

8. 2013 Ca’Momi Rosso di Napa (Napa Valley, California) – We’ll finish up with a fun and full bodied red from Napa that combines the dark fruit character and power of Cab and Merlot with the spicy stuff of Zinfandel and Syrah.  Packed with flavors of ripe berries, oak spice, and smoky mocha, this makes for a perfect summer grilling wine.
