Summer Chuggers - Wine Tasting - Saturday, June 29

Saturday, June 29th from 2-5pm – I know ‘Summer Chuggers’ isn’t the most eloquent name for a wine tasting, but I think it’s quite fitting! Join us to sample some wines that won’t break the bank and that go down way too easy.

Asheville’s Best Free Wine Tasting – Just stop by – we’ve got plenty of free parking!

Did you know that Table Wine stocks over 150 wines that come to you at less than $15? “Artisanal Wines at Affordable Prices” is our tagline, and we’ve stayed loyal to this theme since we opened back in 2010. Stop by to sample what I think our some of our best QPR (quality to price ratio) wines and stock up for all of your summer needs. Whether you need great whites for the pool or beach trips or hearty reds for your summer cookouts, we’ve got you covered. Don’t miss it!

All of the featured tasting wines are 20% off by the bottle on tasting day only.

1. 2018 El Casetero Macabeo (Campo de Borja, Spain) – Team Table Wine adores this stuff! Spanish Master of Wine Fernando Mora is working with old, dry-farmed, organically tended Macabeo to produce this intense, concentrated, and pure white wine. If you’re not familiar with the Macabeo grape, David will explain, but it kind of tastes like a hypothetical ‘Pinot Gris meets Sauvignon Blanc’ blend.

2. 2018 Excelsior Chardonnay (Robertson, South Africa) – This is the best selling wine in the store and there’s a good reason for that. One of the great Chardonnay values in the world. Neal Martin of Vinous Media says: The 2018 Excelsior was 25% fermented in new French oak and 25% fermented with wild yeast. It has a detailed, fresh citrus peel and light passion fruit bouquet, the oak neatly integrated. The palate is taut and fresh, offering a lovely twist of sour lemon on the entry, moderate depth and a taut, quite saline finish. Excellent.” – 91 points

3. 2018 Domaine de Couron Rosé (Rhone Valley, France) – Composed entirely of Grenache from 40+ year old vineyards, this is splendid dry rosé at a great price. Showcasing lovely notes of strawberry, cherry, watermelon and citrus zest, it keeps you coming back for sip after sip.

4. 2017 Vallana Barbera (Piemonte, Italy) – It’s back and it’s better than ever! Wine Spectator called Vallana one of the top 100 producers on the planet — when you taste this extreme value, you’ll understand why. This is gutsy, hearty, complex, and fulfilling Barbera with lovely notes of earthy cherry, pomegranate, plum and spice. So, so good and such a great price.

5. Surprise Wine – We’ll end with something a little more special. Stop by to see what that might be!
