Spring and Summer Sparkling Wines- Free on Fridays Wine Tasting

Friday, May 19th from 4-7pm – Stop by Table Wine in South Asheville for a free wine tasting of some awesome spring and summer sparkling wines. This is your chance to try the 2015 Alla Costiera Prosecco, our new Wine of the Week and the best Prosecco we’ve ever tried!

Who said sparkling wines were just for the holidays and special occasions? Not us! Join us as we pour a delicious and affordable trio of bubbles from the Old World. To start, it’s the always dependable and delicious Broadbent Vinho Verde. A candidate for the best value porch and patio pounder out there, this year’s version is as good as ever. Up next, it’s a bone dry, clean and “bready” Cava from Spain’s Perelada Estate. Possessing great cleansing acidity and an overall zesty personality, this is the perfect bottle to start your weekend. To finish, it’s the greatest Prosecco we’ve ever tried. About 500 cases of Alla Costiera’s Prosecco are made each year, and you can certainly taste the small production craftsmanship with every sip. Get your weekend off to a good start — stop by, taste, learn and save every Friday at Table Wine. Can’t make it by, but want to place an order? Just email me at josh@tablewineasheville.com.

The Wines
All of the featured tasting wines are on sale the day of the tasting: take 10% off if you mix any 3, 15% off if you mix any 6, or 20% off if you mix any 12.

1. NV Broadbent Vinho Verde (Vinho Verde, Portugal) – Vinho Verde is Portugal’s most popular white wine, and it’s also one of the most refreshing wines on the planet. A blend of native Portuguese grapes, it is lightly fizzy/frothy and super fresh with notes of green apple and mixed citrus fruits.

2. 2013 Castillo Perelada “Stars” Cava Brut Nature (Emporda, Spain) – Since 1987, every summer Castillo Perelada hosts one of the most prestigious music festivals in Europe. This Cava was made as a tribute to all the artists who perform each year. A traditional blend of Parellada, Xarel-lo, and Macabeu, this is clean, dry, and zesty Cava for all occasions.

3. 2015 Alla Costiera Prosecco Extra-Dry (Veneto, Italy) – It’s our Wine of the Week and it’s simply sensational. From a small, certified organic, family owned estate, this is as good as Prosecco gets. 100% Glera from older vineyards in the Colli Eugenei, just 500 cases of this wine are made each year! Compare that to some of the “other,” more well known Prosecco producers who produce their wines in a “factory setting” and make close to a million cases…………it’s an incredible value!
