Monday, December 31 at Table Wine, Asheville’s wine store dedicated to stocking promoting, and selling wines from family owned and operated wineries.
1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
FREE TO THE PUBLIC!
It’s our last tasting of the year, and we’re going out in style with nothing but bubbles and truffles. No New Year’s Eve would be complete without a bottle of sparkling wine and you don’t have to spend a ton of money to partake in the festivities.
Not only is bubbly delicious, it only contains 90 calories per glass……that’s for those of you who might be starting your New Year’s resolutions early. It’s great for festive occasions, but we love it on Tuesday nights with sushi. Try it and you’ll know what we’re talking about. But first, come try it before you buy it this Monday!
Prices range from $11 to $38
1. NV Garofoli Guelfo Verde Frizzante
Good enough to drink by itself, perfect for mimosas!
2. NV Belstar Prosecco
Gorgeous, dry Prosecco from one of the oldest and most trusted producers.
3. 2009 Antech Blanquette de Limoux
From France’s oldest sparkling wine zone, this stuff is knockout. It easily competes with many true Champagnes at a fraction of the price.
4. NV Mercat Cava Brut
For those who love pretty labels, this is the one for you. The bubbly juice inside is wonderful too!
5. NV Domaine Thevenet Blanc de Blancs Brut
Beautifully pure Chardonnay fermented methode Champenoise. From importer extraordinaire Neil Rosenthal, this is wonderful stuff priced to sell.
6. NV Fontanavecchia Principe Lotario Brut
Here’s the freaking wine in the tasting. Dry, sparkling rose of Aglianico……….what!?
7. NV Thierry Triolet Champagne Brut
True, small grower/producer Champagne. Just the smell of this one makes my mouth water!
8. NV Jose Michel Champagne Brut Tradition
From the “Guru of Pinot Meunier” …..we’ll explain! This is superstar Champagne from one of the region’s true originals.
