Best Free Wine Tasting - Asheville, North Carolina

South Asheville's Best Free Wine Tasting

Every Saturday, we host one of Asheville’s best free wine tastings from 2 to 5 p.m. It is free to the public and the tasting always features four deliciously affordable wines from various wine producing countries and regions.

This week, we’re excited to share some great new arrivals to the store and all of the wines retail for $15 or less. Take a look at the lineup for this Saturday, April 14 and join us on our quest to expose Asheville wine lovers to nothing but the good stuff.

1. Casal Garcia Vinho Verde – This is a quintessential warm weather white wine. Vinho Verde is Portugal’s most imported white wine to the U.S., and it is light, slightly spritzy and super fresh with green apple, citrus and green tea like notes.

2. Distant Land Sauvignon Blanc – I’m a sucker for New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc during the warmer months, and this one is an extreme value. Bright gooseberry, grapefruit and citrus notes permeate this fresh, zingy, zippy white wine. You’re gonna’ love it.

3. Baudron Malbec – Malbec is one of the best all purpose red wines for spring and summer grilling season. This wine has everything that much more expensive Malbecs have – full body, ripe blue fruits, exotic spices and a soft and seamless mouthfeel.

4. Line 39 Petite Sirah – Looking for a wine that won’t break the bank, that offers good body and intensity? Look no further than this Petite Sirah which tastes like a freshly baked blackberry pie, with plenty of ripe, jammy fruit flavors that are wrapped in warm, vanilla-scented spice notes.
