Best Free Wine Tasting - Asheville, North Carolina

South Asheville's Best Free Wine Tasting

This Saturday at Table Wine from 2-5pm – South Asheville’s Best Place To Buy Wine – FREE TO ALL – Table Wine will be a great alternative to the WNC Wine and Food Festival this Saturday, and we’ll have wine and food for you too! Being that we’re a one person operation, we can’t make it to the festival, but we’ll be here pouring wine from 2 to 5. In addition, Tom Kousky from Hominy Valley Organic Farm will be here selling his awesome organic vegetables from 2 to 3:30.

Here’s the lineup of wines for this Saturday:

1. Pares Balta Blanc de Pacs – Basically Cava without the bubbles, this blend of native Spanish grapes produces a peachy, applely, dry white wine that is fresh and easy to drink. Organic too!

2. Domaine Talmard Macon-Chardonnay – Yes, there is actually a village named Chardonnay in Burgundy, and brothers Paul and Philibert Talmard produce the only estate bottled one. Round and spicy, with lovely apple and pear fruit, this is pure Chardonnay at its finest.

3. Santa Martina Rosso Toscana – This is just a fun little blend of Sangiovese, Syrah, Merlot and Cab. With rounded tannins a tons of ripe cherry fruit and spice, this is the perfect wine for drinking with or without food.

4. Casa Castillo Monastrell – If you love big, rich and spicy but you don’t love spending tons of money, here is the wine for you. 100% Monastrell from old vines in Spain’s Jumilla region – all of the vines are old there actually – this is full or ripe black cherry, raspberry and blueberry fruit with spicy oak notes. A lot of wine for less than $13.
