South Asheville's Best Free Wine Tasting

Saturday, July 30 at Table Wine from 2-5pm – South Asheville’s Best Free Wine Tasting – Table Wine is the wine store to be at on Saturdays in the summer. Not only do we offer a free “try before you buy” wine tasting, we also have our own little farmer’s market going on in the store with produce from Tom Kousky’s Hominy Valley Organic farm. Not only can you taste and buy some great wines, you can also buy the makings of a wonderful dinner. Join us this Saturday as we taste some new arrivals to the store.

1. Cave de Pomerols Picpoul de Pinet – Picpoul is one of the most planted white grapes in southern France, and this high quality co-op is made up of a number of small family growers who don’t have enough money to form their own winery and bottling facility. This is the wine version of a gin and tonic, minus the piney notes. It’s all fresh lime and citrus with just a bit of sparkle.

2. Bel Echo Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough, New Zealand – Sancerre based vigneron Henri Bourgeois founded this estate a few years back and built it from the ground up………literally. He found untouched, unfarmed land and cultivated it using organic methods, and this is the second vintage of this wine to hit the U.S. It is soooooo good, combining the intense citrus fruits of New Zealand with the more complex mineral and earth notes of the Loire Valley.

3. Mystery Wine #1 – It’s red, it’s from the southern part of France, and it’s from a small family estate using organic practices. That’s all I’m giving you – don’t worry, it’s not a test.

4. Mystery Wine #2 – It’s red, it’s from the southern part of France, and it’s from a small family estate using organic practices. That’s all I’m giving you – don’t worry, it’s not a test.

We always offer 10% discounts on 6 mixed bottles and 15% discounts on 12.
