The Table Wine “Classroom”

If you are a fan of small production, carefully crafted, traditionally made wines from France, this is your tasting. If there were an American Wine Hall of Fame, Neal Rosenthal would surely be one of its first inductees. After leaving his job as a corporate and international attorney in the mid-1970’s, Neal Rosenthal opened a small retail store in New York City in 1977 focused entirely on small growers. This was a risky endeavor. At that time, most Americans weren’t even drinking wine and if they were, it was most likely pink and/or sweet. Neal foresaw the future of wine in the United States and his hunch was right as American’s are drinking more wine today than ever before. That little store at 1590 Lexington Avenue still stands, but the business model has greatly expanded to include importing and distribution.

Importer Neal Rosenthal.

What you will always find in a wine selected by Neal is a sense of place (aka terroir) and tradition. His producers’ wines aren’t typically flashy, flamboyant, or fruit-forward. Instead, they are balanced wines with a perfect interplay between fruit and secondary characteristics like earth, spice, and mineral. Welcome Southeastern US Sales Manager Josepeh Frederick and join us as we take you on a French wine adventure through the wines of Rosenthal. From Bordeaux and the Rhone Valley to the Loire and the Languedoc, it’s guaranteed to be a fun ride! The cost of entry gets you tastes of 9 different wines and lively discussion on each, light hors d’oeuvres prepared by Chef Justin Burdett and his team at Local Provisions, and incredible discounts on all of the wines tasted.

****We can only take 24 for this limited seating event, and reservations and pre-payment are required. Please plan to arrive at the store by 7:00, and we will get started promptly at 7:15. Due to our planning needs, refunds can only be offered on cancellations made prior to Saturday, February 4th.
