Red, White and Wine Tasting this Friday, July 1st from 2-7 p.m. – Whether you’re gathering with family, cooking out, or watching fireworks, wine is a necessity for you Independence Day celebrations and we’re here to help! Stop by the store this Friday to taste, learn, and stock up on some perfect wines for July 4th! We’ll pop some awesomely affordable wines that will make everyone happy. From crisp whites and dry rosé to a crowd pleasing red perfect for grilled meats and barbecue, we’ve got all bases covered. Please note that we will be closed Monday, July 4th in observation of the holiday so this a great opportunity to sample some great holiday appropriate wines and save big.

1. 2015 Chateau Font-Mars Picpoul de Pinet (Languedoc, France) – The Picpoul grape is responsible for some of the most refreshing and thirst quenching wines on the planet, and the version of Font-Mars is consistently a great one. Picpoul literally means “lip stinger,” and this high acid white wine is bone dry, crisp and packed with lemony/limey/minerally deliciousness. Say hello to your new summer white!
2. 2015 Belle Provencale Blanc (Cotes du Luberon, France) – The entry level line of wines from France’s Perrin family, makers of Chateau Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape, the Belle Provencale wines (we’ll taste the red too) offer a ton of quality and substance at a great price. This one is a classic Mediterranean blend of Vermentino, Ugni Blanc and Grenache Blanc that literally tastes like sunshine in a bottle. Notes of apple, pear, citrus and white flowers make this a perfect wine for sipping by the pool or with fresh fish and seafood.
3. 2015 Domaine Vetriccie “Ile de Beaute” Rosé (Corsica, France) – This stuff has been flying out of the store at a rapid pace! A blend of Corisca’s native Nielluccio and Sciacarello with small amounts of Grenache and Merlot it is “pure, with peach, white cherry and bergamot notes, carried by a minerally edge.” – Wine Spectator – 88 points
4. 2015 Belle Provencale Rouge (Cotes du Ventoux, France) – The red from Belle Provencale, like the white, is a lot of wine for the money! A blend of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan and Cinsault fermented in stainless steel, it offers up ripe and juicy notes of cherry, plum, peppery spice and Provencal herbs. Soft, low in tannin, and completely chuggable, this makes for a great easy drinking house wine.
