The Best Free Wine Tasting in Asheville – This Friday, August 14th From 2-7 p.m. – Being that our tagline is “Artisanal Wines at Affordable Prices,” it only makes sense that we hold a lot of wine tastings featuring small production, hand crafted, and budget friendly wines from all over the world. This week, we’re going to pour an incredible lineup of artisanal wines of Southern France, and you’re all invited to come by and taste them. We’ll talk you through the wines and explain to you what the term “artisanal” means. Stop by, taste, learn, and save up to 20% off on all of the tasting wines.
1. 2014 Brumont Sauvignon Blanc/Gros Manseng (Gascogne, France) – Winemaker Alain Brumont is one of the best in Southwestern France and his blended white is a real crowd pleaser. 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Gros Manseng fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel, this dry and exotically scented and flavored white wine is a real treat. If you like like richer, more aromatic Sauvignon Blancs, you’ll love this.
Tasting Price: $13.49/bottle | $12.74 in a mixed six pack | $11.99 in a mixed case
2. 2014 Maison Fabre “Serpolet” Cotes de Provence Rose (Provence, France) – Provence is one of the top spots in the world for dry rose, and the natives of the region drink copious amounts of the stuff. One taste of this wine and we think you’ll understand why. A blend of Cinsault, Grenache, and Syrah fermented in stainless steel until completely dry, it offers up lovely notes of rounded red fruit, herb, and citrus zest.
Tasting Price: $15.29/bottle | $14.44 in a mixed six pack | $13.59 in a mixed case
3. 2013 Chateau Jouclary Cabardes Cuvée Tradition (Languedoc, France) – Talk about a wine that way over-delivers for the money! The Cabardes AOC is unique in the sense that producers are allowed to blend Mediterranean varietals (Grenache, Syrah) with Atlantic grapes (Merlot, Cabernet Franc). The resulting wine behaves a bit like hypothetical “Bordeaux meets Cotes du Rhone.” Whatever the case, there’s a lot going on in this earthy, spicy, rustic red wine.
