Table Wine is following up its June 10 benefit tasting for the Animal Compassion Network with an awesome free tasting on Saturday. We’ll explore the traditional, unfortified wines of Portugal, and all wines will be offered by the glass at ridiculously low prices. We stock a number of Portuguese whites and reds, and these wines provide maximum bang for buck. Take a look at the lineup and stop by to “try before you buy” some highly rated wines at closeout type prices. Here’s the lineup:
Monte Velho Blanco
For those who missed this the first time, we’re giving you another shot to try the most dangerous white wine on the planet…….you’ll finish a bottle is 15 minutes or less. Fresh peach, ripe tropical fruits and honeyed citrus make this dry white wine hard to resist. 88 points Wine Spectator
Quinta da Romeira Arinto
Beautifully aromatic, crisp and dry, this indigenous Portuguese grape makes a wine somewhat reminiscent of dry Riesling or Albarino. It is beautifully aromatic and dry, with notes of papaya, honeydew melon and zesty green apple. Perfect for sushi or fresh seafood.
Monte Velho Tinto
Here’s the perfect, summertime grilling wine. Loaded with ripe berry fruit and toasty oak, it is soft, smooth and super-easy to drink.
Fresh off of its 89 point score from the Wine Spectator, we felt we should re-introduced this “extreme value” to you. Full bodied, but lush and rounded with ripe raspberry, plum and mocha notes.
We also offer very aggressive discounts on our tasting wines on the day of the tasting:
6 bottles mixed – 10% off
12 bottles mixed – 15% off
