Free Wine Tasting - Wyatt Wines - Friday, August 31

Friday, August 31st from 4-7pm – Join us Friday to sample California’s Wyatt Wines — these are some of the state’s top values, and you’re going to love them.

Asheville’s Best Free Wine Tasting – Just stop by – we’ve got plenty of free parking!

As Robert Parker of the Wine Advocate said, “these wines show impeccable attention to detail and a thorough knowledge of some admirable fruit sources.” New York-based wholesaler/importer Doug Polaner is the man behind the Wyatt line of wines. He represents some top California producers in the big city, and the Wyatt wines are crafted with juice and finished wines from these folks. Thus, you’re getting a ton of wine for your money — in fact, much of the fruit comes from producers who sell their wines for $50+! Stop by, taste the wines, stock up, and save big.

All of the featured tasting wines are 20% off by the bottle on tasting day only.

1. 2016 Wyatt Chardonnay (Various Regions, California) – When you look at the pedigree of the California producers that Polaner works with, it makes sense why this wine is so good. Fruit comes from sources in Napa Valley, Russian River, and the Central Coast, and the resulting wine is elegant, stylish, and way too good to cost less than $15/bottle. Moderately rich with some toasty oak notes along with ripe orchard fruit and buttered citrus notes, it’s a ton of wine for the money.

2. 2016 Wyatt Pinot Noir (Various Regions, California) – Most of the grapes for the Wyatt Pinot Noir hail from the Central Coast (Santa Barbara, Santa Rita Hills) with a smaller portion coming from Carneros and Sonoma Coast sites. The full fruited character of the Central Coast fruit melds beautifully with the spicy, earthier nuances of the Carneros and Sonoma Coast fruit to create an under-$20 Pinot Noir that is simply awesome.

3. 2016 Wyatt Cabernet Sauvignon (Various Regions, California) – Like Wyatt’s Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the Cabernet over-delivers in a big way. Fruit comes from prime Napa sites in Calistoga and Oakville along with a bit of stuff from the Santa Cruz Mountains. The resulting wine is beautifully balanced, pure, and way better than any other under-$15 California Cab I’ve ever tasted.
