Asheville’s Best Free Wine Tasting – Just stop by – we’ve got plenty of free parking!

Some of the best values in the store hail from the Southern Hemisphere’s wine producing countries. I’m not sure how producers like South Africa’s Excelsior Estate and New Zealand’s Fernlands can pack so much flavor, style, and complexity into the bottle for such a small price. I don’t ask those questions! But I consistently find that for $10 or less per bottle, you’ll struggle to find better wines. Stop by and taste what I’m talking about. Taste, learn, and save every Friday at Table Wine.

All of the featured tasting wines are 20% off by the bottle on tasting day only.

1. 2017 Fernlands Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough, New Zealand) – The vineyard where Fernlands Sauvignon Blanc is grown is one of Marlborough’s best. The soil is an ancient riverbed comprised of three unique terraces of free draining silty loam topsoil. This results is interesting and complex flavors of citrus, grapefruit, lime, and melon. Delicious and full of flavor!

2. 2017 Excelsior Chardonnay (Robertson, South Africa) –This crisp, mouthwatering bottling is a blend of Excelsior’s three best Chardonnay blocks. It displays lively flavors of green apple, citrus, and pineapple on a full, creamy palate. Traces of peach, orange blossom and delicate toasty notes combine with a mineral edge to round out this versatile everyday sipper, a consistent crowd-pleaser.

3.2015 Excelsior Estate Cabernet Sauvignon (Robertson, South Africa) – This crowd pleasing Cabernet – consistently named a Wine Enthusiast “Best Buy” – delivers serious bang for the buck! It displays ripe blackcurrant, cassis, tobacco, dark chocolate and dried herb characters on the nose, which are supported by spicy oak notes. The palate is smooth and soft, with appealing ripe tannins and a long finish.
