Free Wine Tasting - New California Wines - Saturday, January 20th

Saturday, January 20th from 2-5pm – Join us this Saturday for a free wine tasting featuring a trio of awesome, new California wines. It’s Asheville’s best free wine tasting, and you’re invited. Spread the word!

I’m pumped about this tasting because I love sharing new wines with all of you. And my oh my, I’ve found some new winners for sure. All three of the selections for this tasting are great, but wine #3 is special. It reminded Ben and I of a wine from Kirk Venge — think 2/3 Silencieux Cab and 1/3 Scout’s Honor. Yep, it’s that good! Read more below or stop by, taste, learn, and save big on all of the featured tasting wines.

All of the featured tasting wines are being offered at 20% off by the bottle! To take advantage of the savings, all sales must be tendered by the end of the tasting.

1. 2015 Tobias Chardonnay “Blue Oaks Vineyard” (Mendocino County, California) – Crafted by Dawn and Toby Forman (Ric Forman’s son) from their own vineyards, this is a wonderful expression of California Chardonnay. Just 35% undergoes malolactic, so there’s just the right amount of richness. Beautiful pear, golden delicious apple, spices and white floral notes permeate this great value, North Coast Chardonnay.

2. 2016 Wyatt Cabernet Sauvignon (Various Regions, California) – Wyatt is put together by New York-based importer and wholesaler Doug Polaner. Doug works with several winemakers in California, and this Cabernet is made with declassified wine that often sells at a much higher price. It’s a ton of Cab for the money!

3. 2014 Amizetta Tradition Red Wine (Napa Valley, California) – Jeb Dunnuck says, “A smoking value based on 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 21% Syrah and the rest Petite Sirah, the 2014 Tradition is a straight up fruit bomb that does everything right. Blueberry, black cherry, fruit tart and hints of vanilla all emerge from this opulent, mouthfilling beauty that has tons of sweet fruit yet stays balanced and clean.” Yep, I agree 100%. Wait until you try this baby!
