Provencal Rose Wine Tasting at Table Wine in Asheville, North Carolina.

Free Provencal Rosé Tasting

Saturday, August 19th from 2-5pm – Join us for a free Provencal rosé tasting this Saturday! All of our in-stock dry rosés are on sale through Saturday, August 19th, and we’re pulling the corks on some of our favorite dry Provencal rosés for you to try before you buy.

Provence, in Southern France, is home to some of the finest dry rosé wines on the planet, and Table Wine stocks some of the finest selections. Stop by the store this Saturday and we’ll pour you four of the best examples we stock. First up, the crisp and aromatic Les Petit Diables is a superb value in Provencal rosé. Dry, crisp and loaded with notes of summer peach, watermelon and white flowers, it’s a great one to wet your whistle with. After that, we’ll treat you to a taste of the the Chateau Peyrassol Cotes de Provence. From the oldest vines from one of the oldest estate’s in Provence, this is a real treat and a wine you can drink now or cellar for up to a decade. Up next, the deceptively powerful La Bastide Blanche Bandol Rosé was one of the top rated wines of the 2016 vintage. The high proportion of Mourvedre in this one gives it an intensity and concentration rarely encountered. To finish up, the Domaine des Diables Rosé is one of the most intensely aromatic rosés we carry. Boasting incredible notes of carmelized grapefruit, peach and herb, it’s not a shy wine at all. Sound good? Stop by, taste, learn, and save big on all of the tasting wines!

1. 2016 Le Petit Diable Cotes de Provence Rosé (Provence, France) – This one comes to us from the same folks who made the MIP rosé, a top seller last summer. A classic blend of Syrah, Cinsault and Grenache, it is light, delicate, aromatic and oh-so easy to drink on warm summer days.

2. 2016 Chateau Peyrassol Cotes de Provence Rosé (Provence, France) – There is no disputing the greatness of this wine. Before I even pour you some, know that you are on trial…….not the wine. This is one of the oldest estates in Provence (they were founded by the Knights Templar), and they know a thing or two about dry rosé in these parts. The estate uses their oldest vines to produce this wine. A blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, and Tibouren (the secret weapon), it is one of the most concentrated and intense dry rosés in the world. Some folks age it. I don’t. Enjoy!

3. 2016 La Bastide Blanche Bandol Rosé (Provence, France) – Bandol, in the southern part of Provence right on the Mediterranean, is one of the most prestigious dry rosé zones in the world and La Bastide Blanche makes one of the best versions out there. Primarily Mourvedre with smaller portions of Grenache and Syrah, this one packs a serious punch. Ripe strawberry, cherry, raspberry and white pepper notes permeate this fuller bodied, more structured wine.

4. 2016 Domaine des Diables “Bonbon” Rosé (Provence, France): If you were a fan of the MIP rosé last year, you are going to lose your mind when you taste this one. From the same estate that makes the MIP, I opted for this one this year because it is amazing. One of the most intensely aromatic rosés I’ve ever encountered, this one smells and tastes of carmelized grapefruit, gooseberry, mixed red fruits, and pungent green herbs. Full bodied and creamy in texture, it’s a perfect pick for the summer.
