Free on Fridays Wine Tasting! Red and White Blends Showcase – Friday, October 23rd from 2-7 p.m. – Red and White Blends are all the rage right now, but many of the popular brands just aren’t that good in our humble opinions. They’re often syrupy sweet, superficial, and produced in large quantities, a wine recipe we avoid at all costs. On the other side of the fence are good wines made by veteran, pedigreed producers who understand the chemistry and art of blending different grapes together to produce a greater singular wine. We can rally behind these and we invite you to join us this Friday to taste some of our favorites. Stop by, taste, learn, and save on all of the featured red and white blends in this free wine tasting.
Remember, all of the tasting wines are on sale the day of the tasting. Save 10% off by the bottle, 15% off if you mix six of them, or 20% off if you mix twelve or more of them!
Prices range from $12 to $19
1. 2014 Saint Cosme Little James Basket Press Blanc (Langudeoc, France) – Louis Barruol of Saint Cosme is one of the great producers of Southern France, and his Little James Basket Press is a custom cuvée based on Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc. Fermented entirely in stainless steel, it shows the traits and characteristics of both grapes in their full glory. Juicy and fresh, with a nice mix of exotic tropical and citrus fruits and floral notes, this dry, fresh, and beautifully aromatic white wine is perfect for cooler weather sipping.
Tasting Price: $11.69/bottle | $11.04 in mixed 6-packs | $10.39 in mixed cases
2. 2013 Dona Paula Black Edition (Mendoza, Argentina) – Dona Paula continues to wow us with their incredible values. This 90 point rated, under $15 bottling is a blend of 60% Malbec, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Petit Verdot. After fermentation in stainless steel, the wine sees 10 months aging in French oak. The resulting wine is full bodied, round, and rich, with ripe fruit and integrated oak.
Tasting Price: $13.49/bottle | $12.74 in mixed 6-packs | $11.99 in mixed cases
3. 2013 Field Recordings Fiction Red Blend (Paso Robles, California) – This wine is fairly new, but it’s quickly becoming a customer favorite. A blend of Zinfandel, Tempranillo, Petite Sirah, Touriga Nacional and a few other grapes from a single vineyard in California’s Paso Robles AVA, this one is large and in charge. Loaded with ripe and jammy fruit and spice, this opulent, hedonistic red is a ton of wine for less than $20.
