Free Marietta Cellars Wine Tasting - Friday, April 13

Friday, April 13th from 4-7pm – Join us for a free Marietta Cellars Wine Tasting this Friday! This hard-working, family-run winery produces some of California’s top values — stop by and taste a trio of overachieving wines from this highly regarded estate.

I had the chance to have lunch with Scott Bilbro of Marietta Cellars on my recent trip to California. Talk about a friendly, humble, and likable guy………kind of like his wines! Scott’s dad Chris started the winery in 1978, with the goal of making high quality wines that everyone could afford. He succeeded with his Old Vine Red, and that wine remains one of California’s greatest wine values. With Scott in charge now, Marietta Cellars has added several other great wines to their portfolio, and we proudly stock all of them. Stop by, taste the wines, learn about the estate, and save big on all of the wines.

All of the featured tasting wines are being offered at 20% off by the bottle on tasting day! To take advantage of the savings, all sales must be tendered by the end of business on Friday, April 13th.

Can’t make it, but want to take advantage of the savings? Just call us at 828.505.8588 to place your order, and we can run your credit card over the phone.

1. 2017 Marietta Cellars Old Vine Rosé (Mendocino County, California) – This is one of my favorite new dry rosé releases of the year. Composed of Syrah, Grenache, and Grenache Gris from the family’s vineyards in Mendocino, it is bone dry and offers up energetic notes of fresh cherry, raspberry, and persistent spice. It easily competes with European rosés that cost the same or even more.

2. Marietta Cellars Old Vine Red Lot #66 (Mendocino County, California) – This was the wine that started it all for Marietta! A multi-vintage blend of Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and a few others, it is loaded with aromas and flavors of warm berries, spice, smoked meat and bacon fat. A ton of wine for the money, it does the trick with pretty much anything off the grill.

3. 2014 Marietta Cellars Christo (Mendocino County, California) – Christo is one of Marietta’s newer wines, and it packs a ton of flavor and concentration into a wine that retails for less than $20! Primarily Syrah, with smaller portions of Petite Sirah, Grenache, and Viognier. A full-throttle, pedal-to-the-metal red if ever there was one, this is rich, layered, and delicious.
