Corsican Wines from Domaine Vetriccie

Try Three for Free Wine Tasting this Saturday, March 26th from 2-5 pm featuring some deliciously affordable Corsican wines!!!  Although it is considered part of France, Corsica lies just north of Sardinia and just 50 miles west of Tuscany.  This is a fiercely independent population — they speak their own language and their cultural traditions are equally informed by Southern France, Central Italy, and the Mediterranean.  It really shows in their wines which are just beginning to show up in the United States.  When we tasted the wines from Vetriccie, we were absolutely blown away by the quality for money they delivered.  We think you’ll experience them in a similar manner. Stop by, taste, learn, and save up to 20% off on all of the featured tasting wines.

The Wines

1. 2015 Domaine Vetriccie Ile de Beaute Blanc (Corsica, France) – This stainless steel fermented blend of Chardonnay and Vermentino literally smells like a sunny spring day.  Bursting with fresh apple, peach, citrus, honeysuckle and gentle spice notes, this will perk up your day in no time.  Easy drinking, uncomplicated, clean and fresh, this is just silly good!
Tasting Price: $9.89 on mixed 3-packs | $9.34 on mixed 6-packs | $8.79 on mixed cases

2. 2015 Domaine Vetriccie Ile de Beaute Rose (Corsica, France) – Vetriccie’s dry rose is one of the best values in pink wine we’ve tasted this year.  A blend of 40% Niellucciu (believed by many to be Sangiovese), 30% Sciaccerellu, 15% Grenache and 15% Merlot fermented in stainless steel, this is a beautiful wine.  Fresh strawberry, white cherry, peach and mixed citrus notes inform the nose and palate of this refreshing rose.
Tasting Price: $9.89 on mixed 3-packs | $9.34 on mixed 6-packs | $8.79 on mixed cases

3. 2015 Domaine Vetriccie Ile de Beaute Rouge (Corsica, France) – The red wine from Domaine Vetriccie is a tank fermented blend of 40% Niellucciu (aka Sangiovese), 30% Sciaccerellu, 20% Merlot and 10% Syrah.  It “behaves” very much like a good Cotes du Rhone with a solid core of ripe berry fruit complimented by spicy, peppery and herbal notes.  With soft tannin and refreshing acidity, this is a great one for warmer weather drinking.
