Rosenthal Wine Merchant French Wine Dinner at Local Provisions

Thursday, April 6th at 6:30 pm – Rosenthal Wine Merchant French Wine Dinner at Local Provisions featuring 5 courses of locally sourced, seasonal fare and French wines from famed importer Neal Rosenthal.  $85/person includes tax and tip — please call Local Provisions at 828.424.7815 or click here to make your reservation(s).

Table Wine and Local Provisions are celebrating farmers near and far!  I share a similar philosophy with Chef Justin Burdett of Local Provisions.  The highest quality and best tasting foods and wines come from small, conscientious, family owned and operated farms and wineries.  That simple premise guides us and the work we do, and we are excited to collaborate on this very special food and wine event.  Also sharing our philosophy is New York City-based importer Neal Rosenthal.  For over 40 years, Neal has been selecting and importing wines from small, family owned, traditionally run estate wineries scattered throughout France and Italy.

Join us for a 5-course meal paired with some of Neal Rosenthal’s finest French wines.  Mike Tiano of The Haw River Wine Man and yours truly will be on hand to discuss the wines and the pairings, and all of the wines will be available for purchase at deeply discounted prices.  At just $85/person all inclusive, this is one of the best wine and dine extravaganzas in Asheville.  Being that Chef Justin only buys what is fresh, local, and in season, the menu will be announced closer to the date of the dinner.  Trust me, it’s going to be great!  Cheers and we hope to see your for this incredible night of food and wine.

*****If you have any food allergies or restrictions, just call the restaurant at 828.424.7815 and Chef Justin will offer delicious alternatives.

Rhubarb wine dinner in Asheville, NC.

Two Wine Dinners at Rhubarb

We are excited to announce two upcoming wine dinners taking place at Rhubarb on Sunday, May 15th and Monday, May 16th featuring Chef John Fleer’s delicious and inventive cuisine paired with wines from importer Dan Phillips.  To make reservations for either of these events, please call the restaurant at 828.785.1503. Dan is the man who brings us the Southern Belle Red and the Precious Syrah, and he and John have been friends for years.  In fact, the Southern Belle wines were inspired by a dinner Chef Fleer and Dan did together ten years ago at Blackberry Farm.  Dan will be on hand for both dinners to discuss those wines as well as the other delicious Spanish wines he brings to the US.

On Sunday, May 15th at 6:30 pm, it’s Sunday Supper time at Rhubarb!  This three course meal will be served family style at Rhubarb’s communal tables.  The dinner will feature dishes different than those on the regular Rhubarb menu, and Dan will be presenting wines from his Grateful Palate portfolio including Precious Syrah and others.  The cost is just $45/person before tax and gratuity for this fun and casual wine and dine experience.

For a more formal wine dinner experience, join us on Monday, May 16th at 6:00 pm for a 5-course dinner featuring some of Chef Fleer’s most inspired dishes paired with wines from Dan’s Petit Hameau portfolio.  Whereas Dan created the Southern Belle project, the wines from his Petit Hameau portfolio are from small family estates that Dan discovered while travelling in Spain.  Trust us, if you like the style of the Southern Belle wines, you’re going to love Dan’s other finds!  The cost for this extensive culinary feast is just $65/person before tax and gratuity.  Check out the menu below.

Spanish Wine Dinner at Curate

Table Wine and Curate partner for a Spanish wine dinner!!  Table Wine and Curate make a great team, and we’re excited to announce our next wine dinner on Wednesday, February 3rd at 6:00 p.m. in the private dining room at the restaurant.  The dinner will feature five wines from award winning Spanish producer Bodegas Mustiguillo and a bevy of delicious tapas prepared by esteemed chef Katie Button.  Seating is limited to just 24 people and reservations can be made by clicking here.

Bodegas Mustiguillo is a relative newcomer to the Spanish wine scene, but they are already considered one of the country’s top estates.  Founded in the late 1990’s by Toni Sarrion, the winery was created to showcase the potential of Spain’s Bobal grape.  Long considered a second rate varietal capable of producing simple, rough and rustic red wines, Bobal has found a new identity at Bodegas Mustiguillo.  By working with old vines, decreasing yields, harvesting later, and fermenting in concrete and French oak, Toni and his family have helped to save this indigenous variety and coax it from obscurity and rusticity to the forefront of truly world class wines.  This hard work has resulted in some very prestigious awards including Top Spanish Wine at Decanter’s World Wine Awards in 2014 and being named one of the top wineries in the world by Wine and Spirits magazine.

This is a tremendous opportunity to taste all of the estate’s wines with tapas specifically prepared for each wine.  After the dinner, all of the wines will be available to purchase at discounted prices through Table Wine.  Cheers and happy drinking and eating in Asheville!
