Seated Wine Tasting – Top Wine Finds of 2016 on Thursday, September 22nd starting at 7:15 p.m. in the Table Wine Classroom!  In case you didn’t know, we are some of the best “wine hunters” in town.  We work on the front lines of the wine industry.  That means we often get to taste the best new releases before the wine critics do!  In fact, we taste around 1,000 wines each year, and we only choose the best to stock in the store.  For this special seated tasting, we will present you with 9 of our top wine finds of 2016.  Even better, all of the wines will be offered at the best prices in the country.  That’s all we’re telling you for now!

We can only take 24 for this fun and engaging evening of tasting and learning.  The cost is just $30/person ($24 for Grape Nuts) all-inclusive and includes light hors d’oeuvres.  Please plan to arrive 5 to 10 minutes early so that we can start on time.  To pre-pay and reserve your spot, call us at 828.505.8588.  Due to our planning needs, refunds will only be offered on cancellations made on or before Tuesday, September 20th.

Seated Wine Tasting – Spring and Summer Wines

Seated Wine Tasting at Table Wine on Thursday, April 21st from 7-9 pm featuring some classic spring and summer wines!!  To sign up and pre-pay for this limited seating wine tasting in the Table Wine Classroom, just call us at 828.505.8588 or email us at josh@tablewineasheville.com and we will follow up with you.  Spring has sprung, temperatures are rising, flowers are blooming, and grills are being put back to use!  It’s one of our favorite times of year in Asheville, and we’re excited to share some of our favorite spring and summer wines with you!  Mike Tiano of The Haw River Wine Man will join us to pour you a bevy of wines, from light and crisp whites perfect for porch and patio sipping to hearty and full bodied reds ideal for barbecue and grilled foods.  The tasting is just $35/person ($28 for Grape Nuts) and that gets you tastes of 10 different wines along with light hors d’oeuvres.  Here’s the lineup:

Seated Wine Tasting – Adventures in Sonoma County

Adventures in Sonoma County – Our first seated wine tasting of the year!!  Thursday, February 11th from 7:00 to 9:00 – $30/person…..$24 for Grape Nuts – Fresh back from my trip to Healdsburg, I’m excited to share some of my top new finds from all the nooks and crannies of Sonoma County.  From Russian River Chardonnay and Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir to Dry Creek Zinfandel and Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, this tasting gives you the chance to sample ten different wines and hear the stories behind the wines.  All of the wines will be offered at pre-sale prices that match or beat the best prices in the country, so this is a great opportunity to taste and stock up on some of the best wines made in Sonoma.  We’re still planning the roster of wines for this one, but I promise you it’s going to be great!

Bread and cheese are included with the price of entry.  There are just 24 seats available for this intimate and informative evening of tasting and talking.  The only way to reserve your seat is to pre-pay by calling us at 828.505.8588.

South African Wine Tasting with Cape Classics

Seated South African Wine Tasting with Zingo Munger of Cape Classics – Thursday, May 28th at 7:00 p.m. – $25/person…..$20 for Grape Nuts – Some of the most exciting wines I’ve tasted over the past 12 months have been from South Africa.  I’m not kidding, and some of those are going to be poured on this night!  With a perfect climatic setting (warm, sunny, and dry), South Africa enjoys a nearly perfect situation for producing world class wines.  Add to that a perfect mix of old, traditional wine farms inspired by the Old World and newer, cutting edge producers who are pushing the limits, and you have yourself the makings of real and sustainable wine culture.

Join us for a seated and guided tasting led by Cape Classics’ East Coast Sales Manager Zingo Munger.  Cape Classics imports the cream of the crop of South African wines, so you’ll be treated to some of the finest South African wines available in the market.  We’ll taste 8 wines, and there will be a nice assortment of artisan cheeses, meats and bread for you to cleanse your palate in between wines.  We’ve only got 24 seats available for this one, and these events tend to sell out quickly, so please call us at 828.505.8588 to pre-pay and reserve your spot.

Seated Wine Tasting – Exploring Cabernet Sauvignon

We’re excited to announce our next seated wine tasting, and it’s going to be all about Cabernet Sauvignon, the most consumed red wine among American connoisseurs.  It’s set to take place on Thursday, March 12th from 7 to 9 p.m. in the comfort of the Table Wine Classroom, and the cost is $25/person or it’s just $20 if you are a Grape Nut.  Tom Leiner of Grapevine Distributors will join us to help us pour and talk about various Cabernet Sauvignon selections from his extensive and diverse portfolio.

We’re still in the process of finalizing the list of wines, but for Cab aficionados out there, this is your tasting. You’ll get to try everything from super value Cabs from South America and France to super lavish (and more expensive) versions from Napa and Sonoma…….and a few others!  Add to that a nice selection of artisan cheeses, meats, bread and whatever else we think looks good when we go to the market, and there’s no way you can’t have fun at this one.  At the end of the night, you decide what you like and what you want to order.  All of the wines will be available to order at prices of 10% off by the bottle, 15% off if you mix any 6 of them, or 20% off if you mix any 12. (Thursday, February 6th from 7-9 p.m. — $30/person…..$24 for Grape Nuts) – Just in time for Valentine’s Day, we’re excited to host our annual Truffle and Wine Pairing featuring locally made Blue Moon Truffles paired with an incredible array of wine from around the globe. Ever had Brachetto with a salted caramel truffle, Barolo Chinato with a 72% Cacao truffle, or a chipotle spice truffle paired with a big, fat, jammy Zinfandel?  Now is your chance to experience these incredibly delicious combinations of flavors along with 4 other pairings — that equals 7 different truffles paired with 7 different wines!

Join us for a festive and fun tasting just in time for Turkey Day on Saturday, November 23rd from 2 to 5 p.m.!  We’ll be joined by Sara Helmcamp and Ariel Tetterton from Juice Wine Purveyors, and they’ll be helping us to pour 10, yes 10, wines that are guaranteed to make your turkey, ham, and fixins’ taste even better.  From light and refreshing whites to full throttle reds, we promise you that you’ll find at least one wine that will make your Thanksgiving day festivities better than ever.  The tasting is free to the public, and all of the wines will be offered at the best prices you’ll find them in town.  Tell your friends, tell your family, and tell your neighbors!
