Badenhorst The Curator White Blend  (Swartland, South Africa) – As winemaker extraordinaire Adi Badenhorst says: ‘There is so much high-quality fruit in the Swartland that ends up unrecognizable in Bag-in Box blends, I felt that by adding a little more care in the vinification of these grapes while maintaining the cost efficiency in the production… that we can produce wines that are sure to turn a few heads for a very reasonable sum of money.”  He has succeeded and then some!  The Curator White blends Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay with just a touch of Viognier to create a juicy, clean and delicious white wine for every day drinking.  88 points Wine Spectator

A blockbuster blend of 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Montepulciano, 20% Sangiovese, 10% Marcellan, and 10% Alicante Bouschet, it is one of the best Super Tuscan values out there.  Drink now through 2025.  91 points Antonio Galloni

Based on a stainless steel fermented blend of old vine Colombard (70%), Ugni Blanc (15%), and Gros Manseng (15%), it flows with bright and tangy citrus, tropical fruits, and green herb notes.  Reminiscent of Sauvignon Blanc, but with a little more body, it is one of the great white wine values in the world.

Free on Fridays Wine Tasting – Big Red Wines

Free on Fridays Wine Tasting this Friday, January 29th from 4:00 to 7:00 featuring a trio of “Big Red Wines” – If you like full, rich, tooth staining wines, you might want to stop by this Friday for our free wine tasting.  You hear the term “big” thrown around a lot in the wine world, but what does it actually mean.  To us, it means wines with deeper colors, richer and darker fruit sets, and structure in the form of tannin and acidity.  It doesn’t necessarily mean that the wines are going to be so dry that you have to have them with food, but bigger wines do often like to be served with some type of fat and/or protein.  Join us to taste, learn and save on some of our favorite bigger, richer red wines that won’t break the bank and save up to 20% off on all of the tasting wines.

All of the featured tasting wines are on sale the day of the tasting: take 10% off if you mix any 3, 15% off if you mix any 6, or 20% off if you mix any 12.

The Wines

1. 2010 Fontes de Cunha Mondeco Red (Dao, Portugal) – The quality of Portuguese wines available in the United States has never been better and to us, these represent some of the great red wine values on the planet.  This one hails from the Dao region, one of Portugal’s top red wine zones, and it is a blend of several native Portuguese varietals.  Awarded 91 points by Wine Enthusiast and named a “Best Value,” it is a powerful, concentrated, dark fruited red wine to drink now or over the next 7 to 8 years.
Tasting Price: $13.49 on mixed 3-packs | $12.74 on mixed 6-packs | $11.99 on mixed cases

2. 2011 Chateau Recougne Bordeaux Superieur (Bordeaux, France) – Chateau Recougne is consistently one of the great Bordeaux values on the planet.  As Robert Parker says: “A winner from the Milhade family, Chateau Recougne has a reputation for lasting 20-30 years in the bottle in many vintages. I do not think the 2011 has that much staying power, but it over-delivers in body, richness, density and length. It is a shockingly good effort displaying a dark ruby color as well as abundant notes of earth, licorice and black currants, surprising body, richness and depth. A major sleeper of the vintage, it should drink well for 7-8 years.” – 88 points Robert Parker
Tasting Price: $13.49 on mixed 3-packs | $12.74 on mixed 6-packs | $11.99 on mixed cases

3. 2013 Finca Decero Cabernet Sauvignon “Remolinos Vineyard” (Mendoza, Argentina) – This is your one and only chance to try our Wine of the Weeks for free, and we highly recommend that you stop by and do so. This is simply one of the greatest New World Cabernet values on the planet.  It “behaves” like a high end, mountain grown Napa or Sonoma Cab, but it costs just a fraction of the price.
Tasting Price: $16.19 on mixed 3-packs | $15.29 on mixed 6-packs | $14.39 on mixed cases
Wine of the Weeks Price: $15.99/bottle or $14.29/bottle on solid 6-packs (over 20% off!)

Tasting Price: $10.79 on mixed 3-packs | $10.19 on mixed 6-packs | $9.59 on mixed cases

Try Three For Free – Old Vine Wines

Try Three For Free Wine Tasting – Great examples of old vine wines!!!  Saturday, January 9th from 2-5 p.m. – “Old Vines” is a common wine buzzword, but it doesn’t always mean that much.  There is no official regulation for this term and many bulk producers use it rather “loosely.”  At Table Wine, we dig a little deeper and make sure that the wines we stock that carry this designation actually contain grapes from older vineyards.  As vines age, yields decrease and the finished wines gain more depth and complexity of flavor.  Join us for a free wine tasting where you’ll get to sample some top old vine wines.  Stop by, taste, learn and save up to 20% off on all of the featured tasting wines.

All of the featured tasting wines are on sale the day of the tasting: take 10% off if you mix any 3, 15% off if you mix any 6, or 20% off if you mix any 12.
