Asheville's Best Free Wine Tasting.

Big, Full Bodied Reds Wine Tasting

Stop by the store every Saturday any time between 2 and 5 p.m. for an educational and free wine tasting. This Saturday, we’ll have a great trio of big, full bodied reds open for you to try before you buy. When we say “big,” we’re talking about wines that are dark, intensely flavored, full bodied and tooth staining. If that’s what you like, you don’t want to miss this one!

We’ll start with the 2012 Milton Park Shiraz from the southeastern part of Australia. It’s classic Aussie Shiraz all the way, with bold flavors of ripe blueberry, plum, mocha and peppery spice. Next up, the 2013 Chateau Fontanes “Les Traverses de Fontanes” is a really unique red wine from Southern France. Composed entirely of Cabernet Sauvignon that was planted back in 1970, it is fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel. With bold notes of herb and spice accented dark fruits, plum sauce, and licorice, it is a pure and unadulterated version of Cab that offers lots to like. Then we’ll pour our Wine of the Week, the 2013 Finca Sophenia Altosur Cabernet Sauvignon — to learn more about that one, click here. To finish things up, the Non-Vintage Flora Springs Gamut Cabernet Sauvignon Blend is one of the great, high quality, red wine values coming out of Napa today. Rich, plump, and full bodied, this one coats the palate with flavors of dark raspberry, black cherry, mocha, toasty oak and rounded tannin. We only got three cases of this one, the only thing left for you to do is stop by, taste, learn and save this Saturday at Table Wine.

Tasting wines are 10% off by the bottle, 15% off when you mix any six of them and 20% off if you mix twelve!
