2010 Jaboulet ‘Les Cedres’ Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge

Perfectly aged Chateauneuf from legendary Rhone producer!

SOLD OUT!

Today I present you with something totally rare and unique. Perfectly aged, ‘drinking at its peak,’ Chateauneuf du Pape from one of the greatest and most historic producers in the Rhone Valley. A blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre, and 10% Cinsault from 40-50 year old vines, the wine is fermented and aged in large, neutral oak barrels.

Jaboulet makes great wines in tough vintages, but in great years, they never miss. And in case you forgot, Vintage 2010 was incredible in the Southern Rhone — Wine Spectator rated the overall vintage at 98 points. The warm and dry conditions yielded powerful and structured wines with serious lay-down potential. And here’s a wine that is proof positive!

When my sales rep brought this by last week, neither of us were expecting much. But when he pulled the cork and poured it, our eyes lit up with joy, as did our sensory receptors. We were greeted with bold and savory aromas of dark cherry jam, baked plum, complex spice, and savory, umami notes of beef stock and roasted mushroom.

On the palate, it’s obvious this has been stored well. I went on to confirm that this distributor’s warehouse is temperature controlled. Drinking at its peak, with wonderful flavors of silky dark fruits, sandalwood, smoke, and beef stew, this is going to make your grilled meats shine this spring and summer.

I’ll wrap this up. Don’t sleep on this offer. It gives you the opportunity to drink an incredible, pre-aged wine from one of the masters of the Rhone. I’m expecting a strong response to this one and there are only 72 bottles up for grabs.
