2012 Bodegas Aragonesas Don Ramon Tinto

The quintessential red table wine!

SOLD OUT!

This is not a wine that’s going to win any major awards or wine competitions, but it’s just plain delicious. From 50+ year old vineyards in the warm and dry Campo de Borja region of Spain, just south of Rioja and Navarra, it’s a blend of 75% Garnacha and 25% Tempranillo aged in American oak for 3 months. From the cool retro label to the super tasty juice inside of the bottle, this is a great one to have around the house for parties, cookouts and casual drinking.

It pours a nice ruby/crimson color and right off the bat, this smells like old school Spanish wine. Earthy, spicy cherry, strawberry and plum aromas lead into a soft, juicy and spicy palate of ripe fruit, gentle tannin, white pepper and just a kiss of toasty oak. There’s not much more to say about this one other than that you should buy at least a case!
